Jika dibaca baik-baik isi e-mail diatas, urgensinya cukup meyakinkan dan tanpa sadar kita akan mengklik link atau lampirannya dengan maksud untuk verifikasi supaya tidak kehilangan akun kita.
Ini adalah phishing scam yang bertujuan mencuri akses dan data akun Yahoo kita. Cybercrime dengan modus ini memanfaatkan data yang telah dicuri untuk kejahatan lainnya. Sasaran empuk kejahatan ini adalah para user yang memiliki alamat e-mail.
Tertera pengirimnya berasal dari institusi MRCB yang sama sekali tidak ada kaitannya dengan Yahoo E-mail.
Saran buat teman-teman yang mendapatkan e-mail serupa ini :
- Jangan merespon dan jangan membagi semua data yang diminta
- Periksalah domain e-mail. Pasti berbeda dengan domain e-mail kalian
- Gantilah password e-mail utama dan e-mail alternatif kalian jika sudah terlanjur membalas e-mail phising tersebut
- Tetaplah berhati-hati karena pelaku cybercrime selalu kreatif dalam menjerat korbannya. Kalian bisa copy paste di Google Search beberapa kalimat e-mail tersebut untuk mengecek ini penipuan atau motif lainnya
